Equities

Investing in equities means you are buying shares in a publicly listed company. When the value of a company rises the shares you hold are worth more, similarly if the company is unsuccessful and its value falls so will the price of your shares. Equity investments can also provide a good source of income. If the company doesn't reinvest its profits then it may pay a dividend to its shareholders.
